Project Summary

Greenwave Consultancy, a startup specializing in guiding Bangladeshi students toward international education opportunities, approached us to build a digital platform that could establish credibility, simplify complex service offerings, and convert visitors into leads. With no prior online presence, the project required a strategic blend of technical execution and user-centric design to resonate with both students and their parents.

Our goal was to create a website that not only reflected Greenwave’s professionalism but also addressed common pain points in the education consultancy space—slow load times, confusing navigation, and lack of trust signals. By leveraging WordPress’s flexibility, we prioritized mobile responsiveness, integrated seamless communication tools, and structured content to highlight success stories and transparent processes. The project spanned four weeks, from initial competitor research to final handover, with an emphasis on scalability for future updates. The result was a modern, fast, and intuitive platform that positioned Greenwave as a trusted advisor in Bangladesh’s competitive education consultancy market.

01. The Challenge & Solution

The Challenges:

As a new player in Bangladesh’s crowded student consultancy industry, Greenwave faced skepticism from parents and students accustomed to traditional, in-person counseling. Their lack of a digital presence made it impossible to compete with established agencies. The website needed to overcome three core hurdles:

  1. Trust Deficit: Prospective clients required proof of expertise and success.

  2. Information Overload: Services like visa guidance, university admissions, and test prep needed clear categorization.

  3. Technical Barriers: Slow websites and broken forms are common in the niche, driving users away.

The Solutions:
We adopted a phased approach to build credibility and usability:

  • Trust Architecture: Added dedicated sections for counselor bios, client testimonials, and partnership badges (e.g., British Council).

  • Simplified Navigation: Used card-based layouts and progressive disclosure to break down complex services into digestible steps.

  • Performance Optimization: Implemented lightweight hosting, image compression, and lazy loading to ensure sub-3-second load times.

Key Challenges:

  • No prior brand identity or content.

  • High bounce rates common in the industry.

  • Urgent need for lead generation tools.

What I Did:
✅ Audited 12 competitor websites to identify UX gaps.
✅ Curated success stories and advisor profiles.
✅ Built a custom WordPress theme with Elementor for easy updates.
✅ Integrated Calendly for appointment booking and WhatsApp chat.

“A website is more than a digital brochure — it’s a conversation starter.””

This philosophy drove our focus on interactive elements, resulting in a 40% reduction in bounce rates post-launch.

02. Working Process

1. Discovery & Planning (Week 1)
We began with stakeholder interviews to align on Greenwave’s unique selling points (USPs) and audience demographics. Using tools like SEMrush and Hotjar (for competitor analysis), we identified gaps in competing platforms, such as poor mobile layouts and hidden contact details. A detailed sitemap prioritized service pages and FAQ sections to address common parental concerns upfront.

2. Technical Setup (Week 2)
Greenwave’s domain was registered with Namecheap, and hosting was configured on SiteGround for its WordPress-friendly environment. SSL encryption and daily backups were enabled to safeguard data. Professional email addresses (e.g., contact@greenwavebd.com) were set up via MXRoute, ensuring consistent branding.

3. Development (Week 3)
Using Astra Pro and Elementor, we designed a modular layout that emphasized Greenwave’s mentorship approach. Key features included:

  • Dynamic Forms: Contact forms with conditional logic (e.g., selecting “Visa Assistance” revealed additional fields).

  • Resource Hub: A blog with downloadable guides (e.g., “10 Tips for IELTS Preparation”).

  • Mobile-First Design: Touch-friendly buttons and collapsible menus for smaller screens.

4. Testing & Refinement (Week 4)
Cross-browser testing ensured compatibility with Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. We used GTmetrix to optimize performance, achieving a 95/100 score by deferring non-critical JavaScript and compressing hero images. Security plugins like Wordfence were added to block malicious traffic.

5. Handover & Training
A 2-hour training session empowered Greenwave’s team to update blog posts, manage bookings, and monitor form submissions via a unified dashboard.

03. Visual Direction

Design Philosophy
The visual identity balanced professionalism with approachability to appeal to students (ages 18–25) and their parents (ages 45–60).

Color Palette:

  • Primary: Navy blue (#002366) for trust and stability.

  • Secondary: Emerald green (#009975) symbolizing growth and opportunity.

  • Accents: Soft gold (#FFD700) to highlight CTAs like “Schedule Free Consultation.”

Typography:

  • Headings: Poppins (bold, modern) for readability.

  • Body Text: Open Sans (clean, neutral) to maintain accessibility.

Layout Strategy

  • Hero Section: A full-width video background of students celebrating university acceptances.

  • Service Grid: Icons paired with concise summaries (e.g., “Visa Processing” with a passport icon).

  • Testimonials: Carousel slides with student photos, university logos, and authentic quotes.

04. Key Results

  • Lead Generation: 22 qualified leads (phone/email) in the first two weeks.

  • User Engagement: Average session duration increased to 4 minutes, 30 seconds (industry average: 2 minutes).

  • Technical Performance: Achieved a 98/100 mobile score on Google PageSpeed Insights.

  • Client Feedback: 90% of users rated the website “easy to navigate” in post-launch surveys.

05. Additional Features & Integrations

  • Automated Follow-Ups: Zapier workflows triggered email sequences for abandoned form submissions.

  • Security Layers: Two-factor authentication (2FA) and IP blocking for failed login attempts.

  • Local SEO: Structured data markup for location-based searches (e.g., “study abroad consultants in Dhaka”).

  • Analytics Dashboard: Custom reports tracking top-performing pages and lead sources.
